Sarah has ventured that the covenants God made with Israel were only of
a conditional nature. This is a rebuttal of that false presumption.

Except for the Mosaic Covenant, the other 4 covenants are
1) Unconditional:
a) irrevocable (Rom 11:29) There is no condition whatsoever
involved other than God's faithfulness (Heb 6:17-18) Authority and
integrity all rely upon God's own character.
b) it should be noted that blessings may grow out of the original
covenant that are conditioned but which, whether obeyed or not, do not
change the unconditional character of the covenant. A covenant is a
legal document, a "sovereign disposition of God, whereby he establishes
an unconditional or declarative compact with man, obligating Himself,
in grace, by the untrammeled formula, "I WILL," to bring to pass of
Himself definite blessings for the covenanted ones." [Lincoln, "The

3) Specific to Israel
a) Rom 9:4 Israel received the covenants, not Gentiles
b) Eph 2:11-12 again, the Gentiles have not received a covenant
nor do they enjoy a covenant relationship with God.
Both these passages reveal that the Gentiles were 1) without a
covenant, negatively, but 2) positively, that God had entered into a
covenant relationship with Israel.
Paul then declares that there was a provision made in the Abrahamic
Covenant, Gen 12:3, stating that "all families of the earth" are
promised a blessing through the nation of Israel. There is not
specificity as to what that bles
