huh? You are the moderator what on earth are you doing joining in on
the conversation? How dare you take sides. How unbelievably unethical!

Let's see if you have the courage to post this! I have zero trust in
this newsgroup now. I'm unsuscribing. Shame on you Steve. Once again-
typical of a trinitarian. I'm going to notify Sarah and anyone else
about your hypocrisy!

Good questions, and the apostle John wrote about this in his Gospel as
well. He records Jesus Christ as saying:

John 12:31 "Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince
of this world will be driven out."

John 14:30 "I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of
this world is coming. He has no hold on me"

Joh 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it
is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the
world. That is why the world hates you."

John 17:14-16 "I have given them your word and the world has hated
them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you
protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I
am not of it."

And in John's first letter, he wrote that "the whole world is under the
control of the evil one." (1 John 5:19)

So 'the world' is what Satan uses to distract us from glorifying God by
obedience to Him. Satan's most successful tactics are sexual
immorality, pride, and materialism. "The world" tries to take our
natural desires and twist them to extremes. This world alienated from
God and controlled by Satan(temporarily) is 'the world' to which John
is referring.

Peace.
