You're the one jumping to conclusions. We shouldn't
fool ourselves into thinking that using human language
to describe something outside the experience of human
language thereby somehow limits the thing we're talking
about. Jesus had a beginning as a man. There is nothing
that says He has a beginning as God. Jumping to conclusions
is usually caused by assuming that everything must fit
into one's own parochial world view.

John was interpreting what had been written and his understanding of
God and Moses is that "no man has seen God". He was familiar with the
accounts of Moses seeing God "face to face" and he obviously knew what
it meant even though you do not.
Logic also tells you that physical man cannot literally see the
spiritual being without divine help.
You don't see demons roaming around do you? Let alone God's angels.
When angels appeared on earth in Bible times to converse with men they
took on physical bodies

Nowhere in the scriptures is that supported. It's an interesting "what
if?" but you can "what if?" yourself into confusion. The Bible says "no
man may see God and yet live". Thus even if through a mediator Moses
would only see the mediator. Examples: Many times angels appeared
representing Jehovah and were for all intensive purposes Jehovah and
even were addressed as Jehovah. These angels were not literally
Jehovah.
John did "see" Jehovah...in visions.
