Simile is one type of figure of speech, metaphor is another.

There are many symbols and types in chapters 11 and 12. The "temple" that
John was told to measure in 11:1 is not the temple Herod built at
Jerusalem, which had no worshipers in it, and no altar when John wrote. In
fact it no longer existed. So what temple is it?

Paul mentions a 'holy temple' in a metaphor, in Ephesians 2:21 & 22. John's
prophecies in 11 and 12 measure this one.

Regarding John 1:1. Language and cross-terms can be trickly. So I step
back and try to see what is the Bible BASICALLY saying about Christ and I
see this very simple and foremost truth. A FATHER and A SON. That's the
relationship between the two.

I then ask who came first and who came second?

Easy.

I then ask is this designation one of total equality?

No.

I ask if they are two persons?

No.

That's it. Scriptures suggesting otherwise out of context are placed in the
above context.

Focus on Jesus being God's SON in every way possible. God calls the angels
his "sons" so Jesus qualifies as an angel and since he's the chief angel and
firstborn, of course, we reflect on Michael.

Thanks for the comment.
