It sure looks like a quote from the apocryphal "Book of Enoch." But one
can't say for certain. Perhaps it was passed on orally and both
writings used it from a similar source. Who knows? Or perhaps Jude was
simply referencing a popular fictitious book to prove a point. Afterall
Paul quoted from Greek poets to reason with certain Greeks. Whateveer
the case it sure is an anomaly.

I don't think anybody on this board accepts the Book of Enoch as
Ceripture...anyone?

Not really. I'm not trying to stifle your freedom of expression or
your being a witness to the world, but I find the quizzes to be more
"noise" than "signal" in this NG. That is, I'd prefer more intelligent
conversations (with give and take) and fewer things that people think
might be interesting or good for others to read.

The opinions of others may differ.

No. It's quite simple to answer in a word, the Holy Spirit. Though
there are both internal and external grammatical and historical
evidences, it is the testimony of the Spirit which dispells all notions
otherwise. (Rom 8:16)

One historical, external evidence is fulfilled prophecy. This alone
should "stop every mouth" which contends otherwise to the normative
reading of the Word, i.e. the literal interpretation.

Or that no father of the church spoke of let alone developed the
dependency of the believer on the Spirit. Oh, before you object, dear
Mathew, I know of
