I posted a lengthy defense of this in the article. Give me a break.
It wasn't just a bald statement without backup. You snipped my entire
defense and then berate me for claiming to teach the truth without
any backup. That's pretty dishonest.

Not a smoke screen at all! You said, quoting the Scripttures, that
private interpretation was forbidden. I applied it to the man whose
private interepretation created your religion.

Well, since "sola Scriptura" is *not* Scriptural, there isn't a problem.

You snipped and ignored the entire *Scriptural* argument which proved my

But, let's compare what the Scriptures say about the Church and the
Scriptures. The Orthodox Church *is* following the Scriptures:

a) It meets the scriptural command of Paul to keep and maintain that
which he taught orally, as well as by letter. (1 Cor 11:12; 2 Thes
2:15; 2 Thes 3:6)

b) It meets the command of Paul to pass his teaching on to faithful men
who will teach others. (2 Tim 2:2)

c) It meets the scriptural definition that the Church is built on the
foundation of the Apostles and Propehts (who were to be obeyed when
they *spoke* as much as when their words were written down).
(Ex 19:7-8; Ex 24:3-4; Josh 1:16-18; Eph 2:19-22)

d) It meets the promise of Christ that the Holy Spirit will teach
us things not taught directly by Christ, and guide us into all
trith. (John 16:12-14)

e) It meets the statement of Paul that the Church is the pillar and
ground of the truth. (1 Tim 3:14-15)

That's a short summary of my rather long post. The JW's do NOT meet
these basic Scriptural tests.
