>> It is written : John 1:1-3 "1 In the beginning was the
>> Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
>Literally, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
>with the God, and god was the Word."
And like so many other 'literal' translations, this
translation is UNFAITHFUL to the Greek original.
>The Word was WITH God. So therefore was not actually God,
>else he would not be described as 'with' Him.
Not true. For the end of the very same sentence says "and
the Word WAS God". So yes, He was/is actually God.
> To John's Jewish readers, it would of course be blasphemy
>to say that anyone was actually God but Jehovah.
No doubt. But of course, John did not _say_ the Word was other than
YHWH.
> However, there were others, both angel and human, who are
>referred to as 'elohim' or 'theos' when they act as God's
>representatives. So it is certainly no surprise that God's
>Firstborn Son would be referred to as such.
Well, so what? It is clear that that is NOT the sense for
'elohim' that is to be read here in John 1:1-18.

>things stand created through him and unto him" (Col

>enunciates. In 1Co 8:6, Paul distinguishes between the
>Father as the primary source (ex hou) of the all things and
>the Son as the *intermediate* agent as here (di' hou)."
I notice that since the Robertson citation ends here, there
is NO reason to suppose he shares your twisted
interpretation below:
>So the Word was at no time the direct creator, but an agent
>*through whom* the Creator acted. Jesus Christ is God's
>'only-begotten' Son.
And you _consistently_ misunderstand this principle! For
just as the son of a man is a man, the son of a horse is a
horse, the son of God is God.
> God has other sons, both angel and human. (Job 38:7;
>Luke 20:36) Some will even be JOINT HEIRS with Christ:
Here too you miss the point; we can be joint heirs with
Christ only by being grafted onto Christ. So in a way, He is
