So we are into Jehovah's Witness doctrine at this juncture. Might not
self-identity be in keeping with integrity here?

The problem here is that most all protestants do not agree that
the WCOF or the HC teach the truth of Scripture.

You keep asserting on this list that the predominant theology of
Protestantism is correctly defined by these creeds, but this is
not the case. Only a very few really strict Calvinistic churches
accept the WCOF as authoritative.

For example, the PCUSA, the larger Presbyterian denomination,
has largely dismissed the mot objectionable portions of this
creed. Even the smaller PCA, while ostensibly accepting it
wholeheartedly, has those in yet smaller offshoots which think
that even it doesn't really accept it.

The Lutheran's have never accepted either confession, they
have their own.

This fallacy of asserting that the WCOF reliably gives what the
Scriptures teach is what is a issue among even evangelicals.
I am not referring to RC's or OC's, etc. The vast majority of
EVANGELICALS do NOT accept most of the doctrines
which are peculiar to Calvinism.

The WCOF gives a very good definition of God. But its
teachings on predestination (TULIP) are not accepted by the vast
majority of even evangelical Christians, much less all
Christians.

I really think that people need to admit that they are espousing
their own theology and not some theology agreed upon by
most Christians.

Loren, if you would research the history of the creation of
the WCOF you would find some things most deplorable,
even to the most Calvinistic person.

At the time when the WCOF was formulated, there were MANY
pastors of churches in the area which did not agree at all
with Calvinism. It is true that they were in the minority,
especially they did not have the backing of the state at
the time.

Now what the majority of pastors did is what is deplorable.
All pastors who did not agree with Calvinism, were not
allowed to vote at the convention. Further, even though
allowed to attend at the beginning, they had no voice i
