Don't be. There are lots of us here in the NG who have figured out that OSAS is
simply NOT consistent with much in the Gospels. Once you realize this, it
becomes easier to see that despite appearances, it is not consistent with Paul's
Epistles easier.
>Since Christ's perfect obedience is imputed to the saved,
>how can they ever be lost?
See the threads on OSAS for an answer to that.

Loren asks:
Have you read Warfield's "Biblical Doctrines?" The opening chapter on
"Predestination," is second in length to "The termonology of Love in
the NT." But length aside, it is first in order because of it
pre-eminence in revelation. I will not here survey what he has written
as you have said you own his works. Read it. I would then like to
hear what you find unconvincing.
Well, Loren, yes I have read it, but some time ago.
I just pulled out my copy (one of them) and found
that I had underlined various things, so I am sure
I have studied it.
Since it is 64 some pages long, I'll just comment on a
couple of his more outrageous statements, and allow
you to interact.
The page numbers of my copy are from "Biblical and
Theologica Studies" P&R, 1968.
Chapter XI. starts on page 270, and my first comment
is on page 272, where he makes the outrageous statement,
"[He-God] creates the very thoughts and intents of the soul."
He goes on to explain that this is for ALL thoughts, not
only GOOD, but evil.
This fits well with other Calvinistic theologians, such
as Edward's whose theory of the will teaches that
man's choices or will is DETERMINED by his
thoughts.
Next, also, common Calvinistic teaching is that God
CANNOT KNOW that which HE does not cause.
For this reason it is easy to see why BBW, following
Edwards, thinks that God MUST "create every thought"
of every person, in order to make sure that
