I'm pretty sure that is impossible. We are all masses of
untested (and unrealized) assumptions. No one can read
Scripture without couching it into his own world view.
Notice how the snake-handling cults "believe Scripture
without question."

Not really. The first 7 or so chapters are letters to the
churches. Some of it recounts past history. I think if one
reads Revelation as "future history", then he has missed
the forest for the trees. The main message is "Even though
there are many trials, God's people will triumph." Too many
people take this word from God as scary, when it should be
read (foremost) as comfort.

Hi Bart:

How would you "rate" the following??

This is from the Reformed Catechism.

LC: Q153: What doth God require of us, that we may escape his wrath and
curse due to us by reason of the transgression of the law? A153: That
we may escape the wrath and curse of God due to us by reason of the
transgression of the law, he requireth of us repentance toward God, and
faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, and the diligent use of the outward
means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of his mediation."

Am I missing something? Does this REALLY mean
"by faith alone in Christ alone?"
