Matthew, haven't you seen yet that the Calvinists treat Scripture
in the same fashion as do the JW's.
Every passage which clearly contradicts Calvinism is CHANGED,
mutilated, twisted, and otherwise perverted, and made void so
that they can continue to hold onto their corrupt diabolical Calvinistic
system.
Ex 18:23 is but one of hundreds of Scriptures which must be so
treated for them to maintain their false system.
Here is what the corrupter of Truth John Gill says about the verse:
Ver. 23. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the
Lord God, &c.] Perish by sword, famine, or pestilence, or go into captivity;
this, though the Lord's will and work, yet is his strange work; mercy is his
delight.
So by a mere interpretation that when God days here "die," He refers not to
damnation, but physical death! All of us die a physical death, and certainly
this is not what God is saying. But as I said, the Calvinist will do or say
absolutely anything to hold onto their corrupt system.
This is to be understood not absolutely; for the Lord does take pleasure in
these things,
Here we see the common practice of Calvinists, telling God that He doesn't
know what He is saying! God just says that He DOES NOT TAKE PLEASURE IN
these things, but Gill knows better, God really does take pleasure in them!
(What a wonderful thing is the "secret will of God - a will that can be used
as "trump" card at will for the Calvinist, whenever God says the very
opposite of what Calvinism teaches!) The same technique is used by all
Calvinists, and with every verse which contradicts their system, e.g., that
God desires all men to be saved!
