There's no such thing as "the Lutheran church." There are
Lutheran congregations, some of which have banded together
into various synods. The largest of these synods IS the
largest, because they compromised the most on essential
doctrinal issues. To the point that they no longer
profess that the Book of Concord is their position.

Regardless of what the sign says out front, ELCA congregations
are no more "Lutheran" than JW's or Mormons are "Christian."

If you want to read a Lutheran theologian, read Chemnitz.

Interesting, Bart.

You claim that Satan KNOWS that Christ died for
"our sins." Just who's sins are these? The sins of all
mankind or the sins of some elect?

Are you guys really denying what John wrote here?

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing
ye might have life through his name.

Are you defining "holding doctrine," to not mean
"believing certain teaching?"

Faith or believing teaching does not save, but God
saves those who believe certain teaching.
