John 8:24 - . Therefore I said to YOU, YOU will die in YOUR sins. For if
YOU do not believe that I am [he], YOU will die in YOUR sins.”

When Jesus said, I am [he], what does he mean?

We have to believe that Jesus is he who is the light of the world. (John
8:12) “I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no means
walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.”

That Jesus is he who was sent by the Father and “the Father who sent
me[Jesus] bears witness about me”. John 8:17.

That Jesus is he who was the Son of Man, and that Jesus is he who “do
nothing of my own initiative ; but just as the Father taught me I speak
these things” - John 8:28.

That Jesus is he, the Son, who sets men free “36 Therefore if the Son sets
YOU free, YOU will be actually free.” - John 8:36.

That the phrase “I am” or ego eimi doesn’t make you the God , is evident
in the other parts of the Bible.

Joh 9:8 The neighbors therefore, and they that saw him aforetime, that he
was a beggar, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Joh 9:9 Others said, It is he: others said, No, but he is like him. He
said, I am [he.]

But you are applying an understanding of 'nature' that is itself much
later than the time period when Reveleation was written. In that
period, no one would _make_ your distinction between "rising because of
it's nature" and "rise by it's own power". From their point of view,
the two are if not the same, at least indistinguishable. So no, there
is no contradiction between Bob's point and "smoke rising by it's own
power".

>The distinction between "going

But this is totally irrelevant.

'Some' is not enough. After all, so has Bob F.
