God gives grace which enables us to believe and follow God, if we accept
it.

But that is not what is taught in Job. What is revealed is that Job,
like all men after the fall, acted selfishly, that is, he operated as
all men do after the fall. Job was guilty of the error of assuming
that the universe operated according to a principle of rationality.
The consuming passion of Job for vindication suddenly presented itself
as ludicrous once he is placed in God's presence. Job repented of
his misconception of God, not of any alleged sin of commission on which
his three friends had focused. To think wrongly of God is to be guilty
of the very essence of idolatry. This presumes that Job, like all men
after the fall, did not operate under a perfect inclination toward God.
If he was innocent even as Adam was once innocent, then his "link" to
God would not have produced a misconception of God or His justice. Man
was created prefect in that before the entrance of sin, he derived his
knowledge of God directly from God. Adam's sin was not that of
misconception. Job's was.
