The 1st year of Cyrus is dated at 538 or 539 BC in conventional
chronology, which is backed by astronomical data. It is also supported
by the prophecy of Daniel 8:14, the 2,300 evening-mornings to the
cleansing of the sanctuary of heaven which is 2,300 years, ending with
the scientific revolution as explained below.

Some have suggested a later date for the first year of Cyrus, based on
the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel, but that radical approach is not
really necessary IMO, since there are different units involved in the
3 sections of the 70 weeks.

The first 7 weeks of the 70 weeks may be interpreted as leap years,
that is, years having an extra month. In a 19 year cycle there are 7
years with an extra month, so there are 7 x 7 = 49 leap years in 7 x
19 = 133 years. So taking the first 7 "sevens" as 49 leap years or 133
years, and the 62 "sevens" as 434 years, the 69th week ends 567 years
from the decree of Cyrus, which is about 28 AD, when Jesus began his
ministry. The final week is the week in which Christ confirms the
promise with believers. There are 3 1/2 years of Jesus' ministry, and
the final half week is the "time, times, and a half," a label or
symbol of the remaining time of the Church, in which the gospel goes
to the world. It is not intended to be a literal 3 1/2 years.
