On the contrary, Bob, it is you who need to make your
understanding of Rom 9 fit with the rest of Scripture. For
there are a multitude of passages which support Matthew and
my understanding and none that really support your. WHEN O
WHEN are you going to go back to the OT passage (Jer. 18)
and actually let God improve your understanding of what the
metaphor of the potter and clay actually means.

You remind me so much of the JW who reads:
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me
good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou
wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

and comes away with the understanding that Jesus is here
denying that He is God, and also a misunderstanding that
salvation comes by keeping the commandments of the law.

Since many have pointed out to you previously the correct
interpretation of Rom. 9 I will not do so yet again.

Let me just say to you and Bart and Loren that I believe
that free will and God's knowledge are perfectly compatible.
All of the future is certain, and fixed.

The difference in our understanding is that I believe that
the person who fixed our decisions is us. Thomas Aquinas has
written very carefully
