Michael is the Archangel. Are you arguing, like the Mormons (if you are
Mormon, forgive me for missing it), that Jesus is Michael made flesh,
and then ascended to be at the right hand of God?

So what does that mean?

Jesus was also the "firstborn of the dead" (Rev. 1:5). Does this
follow then that no one died before him?

It's recommended that you recheck Luke chapter 1, where it says that
John ministered "in the spirit and power of Elijah;" as opposed to
being some sort of reincarnation. In John ch 1, he was stating that he
was not some sort of reincarnation, that he was a differnet person
than Elijah.

John could have been wrong, sure. He went through a time where he
wondered, then sent messengers to ascertain, if Jesus was really the
messiah.

>Was John lying or deliberately dissimulating?

Modern day baptists who embrace a landmark theology would throw an
unholy fit at such a suggesting. But in this case.....AFAIK.....no.
